This week features a day-to-night-look. A simple outfit of the day that can be carried forth to summer night-time endeavors.
I am wearing a purple v-neck kimono-sleeved shift dress from Asos. This piece is an easy comfortable throw on and constitutes a silhouette that is flattering to many different female forms. I accessorize with a chunky necklace that put together a few years back. I bought the fluffy wool pendant from a jewelry booth during London Fashion Weekend and found beads to pair it with from the Boston bead factory.
Simplicity is the key with this look as the dress color is the main visual stimulant. The remaining accessorizing process is remained at a minimal with white a white leather Messenger from Ted Baker and white wedges from Kurt Geiger.

Over the past two weeks I came across two eye-catching neutral-toned statement necklace pieces that I thought needed to be photographed together in a duet styled summer shoot. Hence this lovely weekend pre-beach/brunch duet shoot by the pier in Dubai with one of my childhood besties Ines Gameiro.
Here I am wearing a clear crystal floral chunky necklace by Coast that I styled with a simple yet fun layered summer outfit. I layered a nude pink, leveled waistcoat with a zipper trim from Designer Circus over a pleated collar white sleeveless top from H&M. I finished off the look with loose fitting denim shorts and brown structured sunnies by Cole Haan.
Ines is rocking an exquisite feminine floral delicacy from a jewelry line I recently learnt about and quickly treasured – Lenora Dame. This Necklace was composed of grey and brown pastel flowers in combination with pearls, crystals and ribbon. Ines wears the Lenora Dame necklace effortlessly with a simple cheerful little white dress, and accessorizes with bold sunglasses by Michael Kors. Both of us are wearing the same shade of pink lipstick by Mac (up the amp) that fantastically composes a complementing distinctive shade on varying skin tones.

Wearing lace, ruffles and pastel shades all at once might seem like a recipe for sickly-sweet fashion disaster – but as we always say here on Stilettos and Substance, you can pull off virtually anything if you style it correctly. As this look illustrates, wearing a girly childhood-inspired ensemble doesn’t have to make you look like a walking confection.
This powder blue Alice + Olivia dress strikes the perfect balance between saccharine storybook sweetness and ultra-feminine romantic sophistication. The intricately embroidered dress features a high cut neckline and dainty cap sleeves and fans out into tiers of ruffles ending just above the knee.
Don’t be afraid to play designer when it comes to your look by adding things to your clothes to customise them and add an individual touch. Here, a lace undergarment worn underneath the dress picks up on the gorgeous embroidery pattern and also covers up the peekaboo back to make it more appropriate and wearable for a formal occasion.
Styling an adorable dress like this with the right accessories is key to keep the look from treading into gimmicky territory. Black patent heels with gold detailing and a sophisticated low-bun hairstyle keep things grown up, and as this look was worn to an Indian wedding, the statement gold drop earrings and bag add the perfect luxe finishing touches.

Fashion shifts as the seasons do, and Stilettos and Substance is making its first foray into spring style!
The possibilities of spring dressing are virtually endless; layers and neutrals have been replaced with lashings of bright shades that span the colour wheel, fun prints that make a big statement, and a sunny style outlook to match the warmer weather.
Get inspired for the new season with these fun, spring-ready looks that experiment with a variety of colours, textures and patterns. The models were styled using a mix of different prints, materials and colours to create vibrant, youthful looks that are fresh and perfect for spring.
Along with your wardrobe, spring is also a great time to get creative with your makeup bag and create fun beauty looks. Big beauty statements such as the big lashes, bold eye looks, bright lips, and colourful nail art seen here can bring an element of fun to your look and are the perfect fun accompaniments to spring dressing.
