Summer daytime attire creates a platform of endless combinations of separates to play with and accessories to distinguish by. The humid Manhattan mist alerts a necessity for easy breezy clothing combinations to avoid contributing to the feeling of attire-caused claustrophobia.
Here I am rocking a basic black tank with a drawstring asymmetrical taupe skirt from All Saints. The accessorizing is really with makes this outfit distinctive. I am wearing the Mini Smile mirror necklace by Kirsteen Stewart which instantly makes me happy, and a maw hauk electric blue clutch by Ted Baker to add a pop of color to the neutral tones. I finish off the look with peep-toe suede must-have booties by Steve Madden.

Over the past two weeks I came across two eye-catching neutral-toned statement necklace pieces that I thought needed to be photographed together in a duet styled summer shoot. Hence this lovely weekend pre-beach/brunch duet shoot by the pier in Dubai with one of my childhood besties Ines Gameiro.
Here I am wearing a clear crystal floral chunky necklace by Coast that I styled with a simple yet fun layered summer outfit. I layered a nude pink, leveled waistcoat with a zipper trim from Designer Circus over a pleated collar white sleeveless top from H&M. I finished off the look with loose fitting denim shorts and brown structured sunnies by Cole Haan.
Ines is rocking an exquisite feminine floral delicacy from a jewelry line I recently learnt about and quickly treasured – Lenora Dame. This Necklace was composed of grey and brown pastel flowers in combination with pearls, crystals and ribbon. Ines wears the Lenora Dame necklace effortlessly with a simple cheerful little white dress, and accessorizes with bold sunglasses by Michael Kors. Both of us are wearing the same shade of pink lipstick by Mac (up the amp) that fantastically composes a complementing distinctive shade on varying skin tones.

With the start of spring, I have been really appreciating finding good basic pieces to build outfits around. I have been on the hunt for well fitted high-waist trousers for a while now and finding a pair that fit like a glove is very rare. American Apparel high-waisted velvet pants were a miracle to come across, they come in both navy, black and oxblood and are “AWSUM” for outfit building.
For this outfit I paired my velvets with a cropped white vintage blouse with an organza collar that I purchased from “Awoke Vintage” on a recent shopping stroll around Williamsburg. Awoke Vintage is a cute petite store that started back in 2009 in Australia and now have a Flagship in Brooklyn! They have a fun collection of vintage blouses with fun lapels and collars, and oversized printed dress shirts that could look really cute in summer paired with denim shorts.
I accessorized my look with teal bow patent pumps that I bought from Charles and Keith during my Singapore trip and now finally got the chance to wear! The rest of my accessorizing comprised my statement scissor necklace that I purchased from SoWa market in Boston and my new fierce purple lipstick from Mac “Heroine”.
